Hectic night

I woke up earlier this morning, prepared myself for internship interview at 2pm. I was very excited and looking forward to it. Yesterday night was a hectic night for me because I was gathering all the projects that I have done in class and putting them nicely in a portfolio. After that, I brainstormed on questions that might be asked by the employer, prepared notes and finally here I go... I arrived 1 hour early (it was a good time for me to review all the interview questions) and after waiting for some time, finally I met the designer of the company. She was very nice and friendly. She was explaining why they need interns, what are interns' tasks and benefits.

Well... they basically needed help! They needed somebody that can work for free and in return, the person get experience which sometimes money cannot buy. For me, it is all good. When we sat down, I showed her with my school projects from flats, sketches, patterns, my final dress from fashion 107A class, my jeans logo; well... basically everything!!! Thank God, she liked them! After she finished interviewing me, she still have another candidate to be interviewed. In closing, she said that she will make her decision tonight and that she will call me back tomorrow. The interview only took 14 minutes but it meant something for me. I learned something new; something that I never experience before.

Overall, I do not put my hopes too high because they asked the interns to work 2 times a week and need 12 weeks commitment. It means that I cannot find a job for almost 3 months and that is scary...

Spring Time

Spring is around the corner..yei!! but the weather is not being friendly lately :( It is causing people to sneeze and cough. But anyway...spring is coming! haha..it means Spring Break fella! Spring reminds me to flower field in Carlsbad near San Diego. Oo by the way if any of you interested in flower, you might go there to check it out or just refresh yourself from "The Hectic Life in Los Angeles".

So from the flower field in San Diego, let me just re-direct you all to fashion report which is the main purpose of this blog :) . Spring leads us to bright playful color which includes colorful flower so of course floral dresses is coming out. I'm posting some pics from Oscar De La Renta, Alberta Ferretti and Etro Spring 2010 floral dress collections. Aside from dresses, the trend for this spring also include boy shorts, over the knee socks, jumpsuits, pattern and printed pants, see through and sheer fabric trend and last but not least ..from last season trend and still going on.."the boyfriend blazers".

My favorite outwear for the time being is the boyfriend blazers. It is simply because the blazer will fit you nicely and easy to mix and match with other outfits. For example, it can be paired with a short or long dress, a miniskirt, leather shorts, boyfriend jeans and of course the classic white blouse. It will never go wrong if you have one in your closet.

Happy Sunday

I just came back from my best friend's house warming party. It was awesome because I haven't met her for quite a while now. Sadly, I left early because of homework and stuff.. :( but again,"Congrats for your new home my friend!"

This week I am posting a pic of my friend who has just graduated from FIDM. Her name is Jena Gabrielle. Her major was Fashion Design but after a while, she realized that she was not really into it so she changed her career path to become a Fashion Stylist. She took some classes from School of Style by Luke Storey who is a well-known wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles. He has given fashion advises to celebrity such as Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, No Doubt and many more. So, if anyone of you are interested to be a fashion stylist, you can always take one of his classes. Now... I want to show you her vintage style which I like. Window shopping at 3rd st.....

It was surprisingly fun and entertaining. I almost dropped my jaw because of those fabulous design products. First store that we went was Opening Ceremony boutique. It was interesting to see the actual clothing and touch the fabric which sometimes we can only see it on the television fashion shows or magazines. As I remembered, there was a black leather dress with layer after layer and yet still looks fabulous. When I saw that dress, I started to think in my brain that how many patterns that they have to make for these layers, how long it will be to make 1 dress, how and how and how questions started to pop out! Too bad i didn't take a pic because I was afraid as they wouldn't allow us to do that and there were cameras everywhere so..yeah....I did not take any pics. Well lets go back to the topic. Beside the dress, there was another thing that made me awe....Shoes!! There was 1 cute black high heel with small bone on top of it. I believe the designer obsessed with dog's world but it was really uncommon and yet attractive. and again...i'm sorry i didn't take any pic but i will do it sneakily in the future so then i can share it with all of you :). So after Opening Ceremony Boutique, we went to several stores that also provided cute clothes and shoes. I went to 1 store but i forgot the name of it. In this store, I found that the prize was more reasonable than other stores. i.e. all shoes were below $100, all headbands and hair clips only $34 and also there was a really cool ring with gold in it (the label say so but i don't know it was true or not) the prize was $200ish with 75% off so not bad right?!
to be continued....
